FRIDAY WORKSHOPS ~ Friday April 10, 2015

Friday before the con is Workshop day!

For the first time, Ad Astra will sponsor a full day of workshops on the Friday that the convention starts. This day of workshops is not part of your convention membership and may be attended by anyone.

285329_491279484267963_784309520_n[1]The day will include quality Literary Workshops run by authors and writing professionals, as well as Hands-On Creation Workshops with professional makers, crafters, costumers and artists. Writing samples will be requested by most of the Writing Workshops while each attendee of a Hands-On Workshop will get to take away an item that they have made in the class. Practical instruction is the name of the game and our class sizes will be small enough to ensure excellent instructor/pupil interaction.

Space is limited and is strictly on a first come first served basis. No more than 20 people will be permitted in each class.

You do not have to have a membership to the convention to sign up for a workshop. However, if you register for a workshop, a $5 discount will be applied against Ad Astra Membership. Similarly, if you are an Ad Astra Member, you may apply a $5 discount to your Workshop registration total. Discounts will be provided as Paypal refunds.

  • Workshops must be registered for in advance. There will be no registration at the door!
  • Workshops are $40 each with a $10 materials charge for the hands-on classes.
  • Once you have registered for a literary class, an email will be provided for submissions if required.
